Welcome to Love Inventions a site that is dedicated to inventing. Over the coming weeks, months and years I want to provide a website that celebrates inventors and their inventions, a place where people can learn more about the inventing process and how to create and sell their own products, a place to inspire and motivate inventors.

Idea for the site

The idea for the site has been spinning around in my head for the last two years but just like many people with a great idea I never got round to making it.

The idea came from watching The Dragons Den on TV, which for those of you who don’t know, it’s a show about people who have invented something and are looking for investment and help in getting their product to market.

Each week I would watch the show and be fascinated by the inventions, some where good and you could see who would buy their product, some needed a few improvements but had potential, most were bad, they were solving problems that didn’t exist or there simply wasn’t a market for them.

But even the bad inventions inspired me, they made me look at the world and ask, “what if?”. I would look and see where people had problems in their lives and ask, “what if?”.

What if?

I loved reading Gizmodo and Coolest-Gadgets and looking at the unique inventions that were being created and wanted to know more about the process the inventor must have gone through to develop their invention. I also wanted to know the problems they may have faced along the way and how they were solved, how the product was selling and what I could learn from them.

As great as these sites are they don’t cover the invention process, so I started to think to myself, what if I created a site that did? I could also interview people who do this for a living. I could look into history and learn about the inventions that have shaped our world today and what made them such a success.

And so Love Inventions was born.

What this site offers

Love Inventions is dedicated to everything to do with the invention world, for people of all different interests, from the casual observer, to the budding inventors and the pros.
