You WILL Have Problems Dont hide from your problems

From the moment your idea for an invention is conceived you’ll hope to sail through the invention process as quickly and easily as possible.

But as I’m sure you know, you WILL run into problems.

There are so many stages in creating a successful product that you’re guaranteed to have a problem or two at some stage.

Some of these problems will be small and can be fixed easily but others threaten to completely destroy your invention.

Problems such as not being able to turn your idea into a working prototype, the manufacturing cost being too high or companies and investors not being interested.

It’s how you, as the inventor, respond to these problems that will determine the fate of your invention.

What Do You Do When Your Invention Runs Into A Problem?

  • Do you try to ignore it and hope it goes away or that others wont notice it?
  • Do you solve the problem by creating a quick fix, a solution that’s easy or cheap but in truth only masks the problem?
  • Or do you face it head on? Despite the fact it’s could mean more sacrifices and more work.

Only you can answer these questions.

To answer them you’ll HAVE to be honest with yourself and that’s not always easy, especially when you encounter a problem that could potentially disrupt or even destroy your invention.

It can be hard to think logically when you’ve had an idea that you know others are going to want or that could make you money. Desire to see your idea created into a product can stop you from making the right decisions.

What To Do If You Encounter A Problem

Don’t Panic - Just because you’ve run into a problem doesn’t mean your invention is doomed for failure.

If when you have a problem you start to think of worst case scenarios or start fearing the worst you wont be able to think clearly and you’ll panic.

You’ll start to make incorrect decisions based on fear.

Accept It - When you have a problem accept it.

Don’t ignore or try to hide from it.

Take a step back, relax, realize that all inventions run into problems and you just need to find a solution.

Most problems can be solved with a bit of time and consideration.

Understand Your Problem - Just because you know you have a problem doesn’t mean you understand it.

Break down what the problem is and why you’re having it. This’ll make is easy to find a solution.

Do What’s Necessary - Sometimes you already have the solution to the problem but you’re unwilling to take the necessary steps to solve it.

You have to decide what’s most important to you.

If All Else Fails - If you can’t find the solution instantly, it doesn’t mean that one doesn’t exist. It also doesn’t mean you should ignore it.

Think about putting your invention on hold for a short time.

Taking a break from a problem will allow you time to clear your head and look at finding a solution from a new perspective.

External factors could also change which could take away the problem you were having.
